The Motley Fool's Stock Advisor team has identified what they believe are the top 10 stocks for investors to buy now, and Apple wasn't one of them. The analyst team claims their picks have produced monster returns in the past, citing examples like Netflix and Nvidia. If an investor had put $1,000 into Netflix in December 2004, it would be worth approximately $386,727 today, according to Stock Advisor's data.

Nvidia is another example, where a $1,000 investment in April 2005 would now be worth around $1,232,139. The Motley Fool notes that their average return has been 906%, significantly outperforming the S&P 500's 208% over the same period.

Apple, on the other hand, has warned investors about the increasing cost of components, which may impact its stock price. While the company is still a well-established player in the tech industry, it's worth considering the potential risks and rewards before investing.
