Apple Pay has launched in India, partnering with Axis Bank as its first card issuer. Eligible Visa and Mastercard credit card users can use their iPhone or Apple Watch to make contactless payments at participating merchants, apps, and websites.

The service allows users to add eligible cards to Apple Wallet and pay using their devices. To do this, they need an iPhone XR or later running iOS 18 or later, or an Apple Watch Series 6 or later model paired with an iPhone XR or later.

At launch, Apple Pay will be available at thousands of merchants in India, including Blinkit, Chaayos, and Zomato. More banks, merchants, and apps are expected to be added over time.
