Apple Pay Lands in India with Support for Axis Bank Credit Cards
Apple Pay has launched in India, allowing iPhone and iPad users to make contactless payments at thousands of merchants across the country. At launch, the service is available only for Axis Bank-issued Visa and Mastercard credit cards.
Users can add their eligible card to Apple Wallet through the latest version of the Axis Bank app or by opening the Wallet app on their iPhone and following the instructions.
For in-store payments, users can double-click the side button or Home button on their iPhone, authenticate using Face ID, Touch ID, or their device passcode when prompted, and hold the device near a contactless payment terminal.
Apple Pay also supports purchases in apps and on websites on compatible iPhones and iPads. Support for Mac is expected to be added soon.
