Apple Pay has officially launched in the Philippines, allowing eligible cardholders to make contactless payments using their Apple devices. The service is supported by Visa and Mastercard, which announced that their debit and credit cardholders can add their cards to Apple Pay on iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac devices.

GoTyme Bank has also confirmed that its debit card customers can use Apple Pay for in-store, in-app, and online purchases. To set up Apple Pay, users need to open the Wallet app on their iPhone, tap the '+' button, and follow the steps to add an eligible Visa, Mastercard, or GoTyme Bank card.

Apple Pay uses security and privacy features to protect transactions, with actual card numbers not stored on the device or Apple servers. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and stored in the device's Secure Element.
