Apple Reaffirms Outperform Rating on New Mac Mini Lineup
Evercore ISI, a global investment bank, has reaffirmed its Outperform rating on Apple (AAPL) stock. The bank cited improvements to the Mac Mini and Apple's growing silicon advantage as reasons for its rating.
The analysts noted that Apple's newly announced Mac Mini desktop lineup powered by next-generation M6 and M5 Pro microchips is a significant upgrade. The base model featuring the M6 chip handles daily compute tasks and AI programs up to four times faster than previous generations, while the M5 Pro chip version offers extra memory and speed for complex AI tools.
The analysts also highlighted that Apple's premium pricing strategy could help the company charge higher prices for its powerful hardware. The new Mac Mini models start at $899 (M6) and $1,699 (M5 Pro), which is about $300 more than previous models. However, Evercore ISI analyst Amit Daryanani says the higher cost is 'justified' due to the significantly higher performance.
Apple's stock price has been stable, trading at around $308 after a slight dip of 0.5% in the last 24 hours. Wall Street analysts tracked by TipRanks have rated Apple (AAPL) a Moderate Buy, with an average price target of $336, implying a roughly 8.87% upside.
