Apple Stock Gains Institutional Support Amid Margin Concerns
Valtrion Capital Management LLC recently purchased 9,386 shares of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) in its second-quarter portfolio, making Apple one of its largest holdings at around 2.0%.
The total value of the purchase is approximately $2,716,000. Valtrion Capital is not the only institutional investor to have increased its stake in Apple during the quarter; Jupiter Topco LLC and EFG International AG also acquired new positions in Apple's stock.
However, some analysts warn that rising component costs could pressure Apple's margins, particularly as it introduces more expensive iPhones. Bernstein noted that surging memory and other smartphone component costs may weigh on gross margins and earnings in the December quarter.
