Apple Stock Retreats After Record-Breaking Peak Driven by iPhone Momentum
Apple's stock price reached an all-time high of $345.34 on Tuesday but declined by approximately 0.4% to around $338.50 on Wednesday.
The modest retreat comes after a strong September surge driven primarily by the tech giant's newest product launches, which have led to a roughly 25% advance year-to-date in 2026.
Strong initial consumer response to the iPhone 18 portfolio has exceeded several analyst projections, with 53% of survey participants planning device upgrades favoring either the iPhone 18 Pro or Pro Max variants.
The upcoming foldable device, the $1,999 iPhone Duo, is expected to become available in late October and may further drive demand. However, elevated pricing and potential supply-chain vulnerabilities raise concerns about Apple's premium valuation, which currently stands at nearly 39 times earnings.
