Apple Surpasses $10 Billion in Annual Sales in India
Apple has reached an annual sales milestone in India, crossing $10 billion for the first time. The figure marks a significant increase from about $9 billion a year earlier, with revenue growth rising at a double-digit rate during the 12 months through March.
iPhones generated most of Apple's sales in India, while demand for iPads and MacBooks also increased. This milestone is strategic because it gives Apple access to a vast smartphone market with rising incomes and expanding premium-device demand.
India is becoming central to Apple's supply-chain strategy as well, with five factories now manufacturing iPhones in the country. Approximately one in every four iPhones is reportedly made there, and India has also become the main production source for devices shipped to the U.S.
