Apple Teases Major Camera Upgrade, New Color Option Ahead of iPhone 18 Event

Apple's upcoming 'Surprise and Shine' event on September 9 has sparked speculation about its latest iPhone models, specifically the iPhone 18 Pro. Analyst Mark Gurman believes that a mechanical camera aperture could be one of the key features in the new device. He also thinks that Apple may introduce a new blue color option for the iPhone 18 Pro Max.

The event will mark a significant milestone for Apple as John Ternus takes over as CEO from Tim Cook on September 1. The presentation is expected to be held at Apple Park and streamed online, showcasing the latest iPhone models, including the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Rumors suggest that the new iPhones will feature Apple's A20 Pro chip, built on a 2-nanometer process, as well as improved camera capabilities and new color options. The iPhone 18 Pro Max may also come with a variable-aperture camera, allowing for greater control over light entering the lens.

Additionally, Apple is reportedly preparing to increase prices due to higher component costs and ongoing memory shortages. A foldable iPhone, branded as the iPhone Ultra, could be unveiled alongside the other models, featuring a book-style design with a smaller exterior display that opens into a larger screen.
