Apple Unveils Foldable iPhone Duo and New Product Lineup
Apple's highly anticipated event has concluded, and the tech giant has unveiled its latest lineup of products. The star of the show was undoubtedly the iPhone Duo, a foldable phone that boasts two screens: one on the outside measuring 5.4 inches and a massive 7.6 inches on the inside. This innovative design features an almost imperceptible crease in the middle and a hinge with over 100 parts.
The iPhone Duo is priced at a premium, with a whopping 2299 euros tag. Despite the hefty price, analysts believe that Apple's entry into the foldable market will have a significant impact. Counterpoint forecasts up to 6 million foldable iPhone shipments in 2026, giving Apple a 25% share of the global market and positioning it as the No. 2 player behind Samsung at 38% and ahead of Huawei at 22%.
While the iPhone Duo stole the spotlight, Apple also announced new iPhones, including the Series 18 Pro and ProMax models, as well as AirPods 5 with Active Noise Cancelling and new Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4. However, one notable absence was a cheaper Series 18 iPhone, which has been a staple in previous years.
The presentation highlighted AI capabilities across various devices, but disappointingly lacked any major breakthrough announcements. Siri AI will be launched in beta with the new IOS 27, bringing features like Live Rewind and Siri Recap. Apple's A20 Pro smartphone chip was also showcased, emphasizing the company's focus on hardware.
