Apple's A20 Pro Chip Powers iPhone 18 Pro Speed and New AI Features
Apple has released its new iPhone 18 Pro featuring the custom-designed A20 Pro chip. The A20 Pro outperforms top PC chips from Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm in single-core speed tests.
The A20 Pro includes special hardware blocks that handle large tasks without using extra power, allowing for up to 36 hours of video playback on the iPhone 18 Pro. Graphics hardware handles raytracing for games, while an image processor improves photo quality.
Apple focuses on running artificial intelligence directly on its devices rather than in cloud data centers to protect user privacy. The A20 Pro chip doubles the size of its neural engine block compared to last year's chip, enabling new AI features like Siri Rewind on the latest Apple Watch.
