Apple's Dominance Threatened by Meta's AI Agent Muse
Bank of America (BofA) analysts have expressed concerns that Apple's dominance in iPhone sales may be threatened by Meta's new AI agent, Muse. According to BofA, Muse has reached the top of the U.S. iOS free-app chart and cleared 2.5 million downloads in its first two weeks.
The concern is that as users increasingly rely on third-party AI agents like Muse to take actions on their behalf, Apple may lose its role in discovery, referral, and transaction initiation, despite maintaining control over every iPhone sale.
However, BofA views Apple as an 'eventual winner of AI at the edge,' citing the company's expanding AI capabilities, including Siri AI launched this month. The analysts maintained their 'Buy' rating on Apple stock with no change in price target.
