Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have been available for pre-order since Saturday, but demand appears to be lukewarm, according to analyst Jeff Pu of GF Securities.

The devices, which start at $1,199 and $1,299 respectively, feature a new A20 Pro chip and advanced camera system. However, the upgrades may not be enough to excite customers, who are holding out for the iPhone Duo, a foldable phone that will be available next month.

The iPhone Duo has a 5.4-inch outer display that unfolds to reveal a 7.6-inch inner display, designed for viewing content or gaming. It is priced at $2,000 and will not be available until October 16.

Analyst Samik Chatterjee of JPMorgan notes that customers may be waiting for the Duo release in October, as pre-order data for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are tracking lower than the iPhone 17 series during week one.
