Apple's Foldable iPhone Duo and Meta's AI Assistant Spark Tech Industry Buzz
Apple has taken a significant leap forward in the tech industry with its latest iPhone Duo, a foldable phone that promises to revolutionize the market. The new device features a large screen display, allowing users to look at two apps simultaneously, and is powered by Apple's A20 pro chip for improved performance. However, it comes with a hefty price tag, starting at $1,999 and going up to $3,199 depending on storage.
META Platforms has also made headlines with the launch of its AI assistant, Muse, which aims to be the 'world's first personal AI agent build for everyone'. Powered by Meta's underlying AI model Muse Spark, Muse can autonomously carry out tasks such as booking travel and making payments online. The basic version will be free, but there will be subscriptions available at $20 per month and $100 per month depending on usage.
The rapid proliferation of AI has raised concerns about its potential risks to financial stability. Volker Turk, the UN's high commissioner for human rights, has called for 'an all-out effort to put cast-iron guarantees in place around the safety and security of AI, before it is too late'. Meanwhile, JP Morgan has upgraded META Platforms stock to overweight from neutral and raised its price target from $640 to $820 this week.
