Apple's New iPhones Pack 40% Recycled Content and Renewable Energy

Apple's latest iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models have been released with several sustainability features, including a significant increase in recycled content. The devices contain 40% recycled content by mass, excluding packaging and accessories.

The company has also increased the use of recycled materials across individual components, which generally have a lower carbon footprint than newly mined materials.

Apple's production process is the largest source of emissions for the iPhone 18 Pro, accounting for 46% of its gross greenhouse gas emissions. The company hopes that by using more renewable electricity and reducing waste, it can make a significant impact on its carbon footprint.
