Apple's Record Price Fails to Excite Wall Street as Analysts See Limited Upside

Apple Inc. (AAPL) recently broke through the $5 trillion market cap barrier, but its stock price has since pulled back to around $312.41 per share.

The Street's average analyst target price is about $323, only 3% above the current price, indicating that most of the upside has already been priced in.

However, Apple's growth engine is shifting from selling more devices to earning more from its existing 2.5 billion users, with Services reaching a record $30.7 billion in revenue for the June quarter and paid subscriptions surpassing 1.5 billion.

The company's premium multiple of around 34 times next-twelve-month earnings is justified by its ecosystem and annuity attached to Services, but this also makes it vulnerable to margin compression if memory pricing continues to rise.
