Apple's 'Surprise and Shine' Falls Flat: Investors Unfazed by New Product Lineup

Apple unveiled its latest lineup of products at the 'Surprise and Shine' event, but investors remained largely unimpressed. The tech giant announced several new devices, including the iPhone Duo, a foldable phone that can be opened like a book.

The iPhone Duo boasts a 7.6-inch main display and a 5.4-inch exterior screen, making it the thinnest iPhone ever produced when open. However, it lacks a dedicated telephoto camera, instead using two 48-megapixel lenses. The phone also features Touch ID on the side button, rather than Face ID.

The device starts at $1,999 for 256GB of storage and goes up to $3,199 for the top 2TB model. Pre-orders begin on October 16th, with phones shipping a week later.

Other notable updates include the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, which run on Apple's new A20 Pro chip and feature improved graphics performance and longer battery life. The Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4 also received updates, with the latter offering up to 50 hours of battery life in everyday use.

However, some expected announcements were noticeably absent from the event, including new iPads and Macs, which Apple typically saves for later in the year.
