Apple's stock has come a long way since its debut on the Nasdaq in December 1980 at $0.10 per share. The company, now a multi-trillion-dollar giant, will showcase its latest products today, including its first foldable phone.

A small investment of just $1,000 made back then would be worth nearly $2.6 million today, according to WhatifInvest's calculator. If one invested only $100 in December 1980, that investment would be worth approximately $264,000 at present.

Envision Research has projected a compound annual growth rate of around 9.4% for Apple from FY 2026 to 2031, which could see the company's market capitalization exceed $6 trillion between FY 2028 and 2029 under its current P/E multiple and share count.
