Archer Aviation Acquires Boeing Subsidiaries for $200M Revenue Boost

Archer Aviation Inc. (NYSE:ACHR) shares surged 20% after announcing a major deal with Boeing.

The company will acquire three of Boeing's subsidiaries, including Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu, in a transaction that creates an end-to-end physical AI platform for aerospace and defense.

Wisk has designed and flown six generations of eVTOL aircraft, amassing over 1,700 flight tests over 16 years. SkyGrid has built an air traffic management solution for automated airspace, while Insitu manufactures uncrewed aircraft systems used in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance.

The acquisition adds a profitable defense business generating over $200 million in annual revenue to Archer's portfolio. Boeing will take a stake in Archer and become a strategic partner, with the companies entering into a collaboration and technology-sharing arrangement.
