Archer Aviation Clears Antitrust Hurdle for Boeing Subsidiaries Deal
Archer Aviation Inc., a US-based aerospace and defense company, has cleared an antitrust hurdle for its acquisition of Boeing's Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu subsidiaries. The Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act waiting period expired on September 18 at 11:59 p.m. EDT, satisfying one key condition for closing the transaction.
The deal still requires other customary closing conditions, including additional regulatory approvals that are currently underway. Archer expects to complete the acquisition by the end of 2026.
Archer's CEO will benefit from combining Wisk, Insitu, and SkyGrid's technologies with its existing product suite and AI foundation model. This move is expected to enhance the company's offerings in autonomy, electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft, unmanned aircraft systems, and airspace intelligence.
