Archer Aviation Closes Hart-Scott-Rodino Waiting Period in Boeing Acquisition Deal
Archer Aviation has announced that its acquisition of Boeing's Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu subsidiaries has reached a significant milestone. The expiration of the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, as amended, allows for the deal to move forward, pending regulatory approvals.
The expired waiting period satisfies one key closing condition but additional approval is still required. Archer and Boeing expect the transaction to close by year-end, with the combined business aiming to create an end-to-end physical AI platform for aerospace and defense.
The acquisition brings together Wisk's eVTOL aircraft technology, Insitu's unmanned aircraft systems, and SkyGrid's airspace intelligence capabilities, which will be integrated with Archer's existing product suite and leading purpose-built AI foundation model, ZEE.
