Archer Aviation Soars 24.6% on Boeing Acquisition Deal

Instruments
BA
Share

Archer Aviation's stock surged 24.6% in August, exceeding the S&P 500's gain of 2.6% and the Nasdaq Composite's rise of 3.9%. The company's valuation got a boost following news that it had entered into a deal to purchase Boeing's Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu subsidiaries.

The acquisition will be facilitated with the creation of newly issued shares, resulting in Boeing owning a 16.75% stake in Archer. This deal is heavily dilutive for shareholders but could be beneficial for the company in the long term.

Insitu, one of the acquired units, is already profitable and generates around $200 million in annual sales. The integration of this unit should have an immediate impact on Archer's sales profile and improve its margins.
