Archer Clears HSR Hurdle for Boeing Subsidiaries Acquisition
Archer Aviation Inc., parent company to eVTOL (electric vertical takeoff and landing) aircraft developer Archer, announced that the waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act (HSR Act) has expired for its planned acquisition of Boeing's Wisk Aero, Insitu, and SkyGrid subsidiaries.
The expiration of the HSR waiting period satisfies a key closing condition for the deal. However, the transaction remains subject to other closing conditions and required regulatory approvals before it can be finalized.
According to Archer, the acquisition is expected to close by the end of 2026. The combined entity will bring together Wisk's eVTOL technology, Insitu's unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) expertise, SkyGrid's autonomous aerial delivery platform, and Archer's own electric propulsion system and AI foundation model ZEE.
While details on the financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed, the acquisition is a significant step towards consolidating the eVTOL industry and expanding Archer's capabilities in the field of urban air mobility.
