Archer Scoops Up Boeing Units for Nearly 20% Equity Stake
Archer Aviation has announced plans to acquire three units from Boeing, including Wisk Aero, in a deal that will give the planemaker nearly 20% equity stake. This acquisition includes Insitu, a drone maker, and SkyGrid, an airspace-services provider.
The deal gives Archer access to Boeing's autonomous-flight technology, potentially bolstering its position in defense and commercial logistics.
Archer shares rose about 17% in morning trading following the announcement.
