Microsoft Bolsters AI Chip Production Plans with TSMC Partnership

Microsoft is gearing up to significantly increase production of its next-generation AI chips. According to The Information, the company has been in talks with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) to secure manufacturing capacity for over 300,000 Maia 300 chips.

The chips are set to be delivered in 2027 and Microsoft is preparing to unveil them this fall. The Maia 300 chip is the latest development in Microsoft's AI-focused hardware strategy.

Microsoft has been working closely with TSMC to ensure a smooth production process for the new chips, which will play a crucial role in the company's future plans for AI and machine learning applications.
