Ark Invest Rotates Semiconductor Holdings with Nvidia Buy AMD Sale
Cathie Wood’s Ark Invest made significant adjustments to its semiconductor holdings last week, with a notable shift from Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to Nvidia (NVDA). The firm acquired 356,681 Nvidia shares, valued at approximately $81 million, while selling 181,767 AMD shares worth about $111.1 million. This marked AMD as Ark’s largest reduction during the week ended October 2.
In addition to the Nvidia-AMD rotation, Ark increased its exposure to other semiconductor and AI infrastructure companies. The funds purchased 76,263 shares of Broadcom, 254,550 shares of CoreWeave, and 172,005 shares of BWX Technologies, with transactions valued at $13.1 million, $7.3 million, and $20.8 million, respectively.
Biotechnology also saw substantial activity, with Ark buying 1.59 million shares of Intellia Therapeutics worth $29.7 million and 355,184 shares of Veracyte valued at $11.4 million. Concurrently, the firm reduced its positions in 10x Genomics by $9.7 million and Tempus AI by $6.2 million.
Ark continued to add to its Elon Musk-linked holdings, purchasing 48,352 Tesla shares worth $12.5 million and making a smaller addition to SpaceX. Other purchases included Airbnb, Amazon, Cerebras Systems, and Rocket Lab, while the firm trimmed positions in Alphabet, Palantir, Zillow, and Twist Bioscience.
