ARK Invest Shifts Portfolio Focus to AI Infrastructure and Gene Editing
Cathie Wood's ARK Invest has made significant changes to its portfolio, adding over 350,000 shares of Nvidia and trimming positions in several other stocks. The moves reflect a clear barbell strategy, with a focus on expanding exposure to AI infrastructure, gene editing, autonomous systems, and space technology while reducing select genomics, healthcare AI, and large-cap technology positions.
The addition of 356,681 shares of Nvidia may indicate that ARK continues to view AI compute as foundational infrastructure for robotics and other disruptive technologies. The company's GPUs, software ecosystem, and developer network provide substantial competitive advantages.
ARK also increased its position in CoreWeave by adding 254,550 shares. This cloud infrastructure provider is used for generative AI training and inference workloads. By buying both Nvidia and CoreWeave, ARK may be increasing exposure across the chip and cloud-computing layers of the AI value chain.
The portfolio also saw increases in Intellia Therapeutics, Veracyte, Broadcom, Tesla, Block, Airbnb, and SpaceX. These companies are all aligned with ARK's precision medicine, genomic engineering, embodied-AI, fintech networks, and space technology theses.
