Aurangzeb Meets with Boeing to Discuss PIA Fleet Modernization Plans

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has been meeting with top executives from Boeing to discuss Pakistan International Airlines' (PIA) fleet modernization plans. During a meeting on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Aurangzeb and Boeing's Global President Dr. Brendan Nelson discussed PIA's need for new aircraft and explored options for faster deliveries.

Aurangzeb welcomed Boeing's confirmation that it would share a revised proposal with PIA for the acquisition of new aircraft, while both sides agreed to explore earlier delivery slots and interim leasing arrangements.

The discussions also covered potential financing support from the U.S. Export-Import Bank, along with engine procurement, spare parts, and maintenance of grounded aircraft.
