Aviation Industry Workers Back New Contracts for Airbus and Boeing
Airbus and Boeing have escaped deepening production woes after thousands of aviation industry workers voted to back new contract proposals.
In a significant relief for both manufacturers, Airbus confirmed that its Spanish workers ended months of on-off strikes with a 76.76% vote in favor of the new contract on October 1, 2026.
The agreement, which saw 13,560 out of 15,460 eligible workers (87%) voting in favor, includes wage increases, flexibility in holidays, and a return to 40% remote working for Spanish Airbus staff.
Meanwhile, Boeing received backing from its US-based union members, with the Society of Professional Engineering Employees in Aerospace (SPEEA) announcing that its members had ratified four-year contract offers from the company.
