Avolon, an international leasing firm based in Dublin, has finalized a sale and leaseback deal with Indian low-cost carrier Akasa Air for up to seven Boeing 737-8200 aircraft. This strategic financing arrangement allows Akasa Air to expand its operational fleet and network footprint across key regional routes.

The transaction marks the third major lease agreement between Avolon and Akasa Air, deepening their commercial relationship established during the carrier's launch phase. Under the terms of the deal, Akasa Air sells the new airframes to Avolon upon delivery from the manufacturer and immediately leases them back to operate on standard long-term terms.

This structure enables Akasa Air to optimize its working capital while continuing its rapid fleet scaling within one of the world's fastest-expanding commercial aviation markets. By transferring ownership off its balance sheet, Akasa Air maintains flexible liquidity while securing critical capacity.
