AWS Drops $18 Billion on Shreveport Data Center Campus
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has announced plans to invest $18 billion in a new data center campus in Shreveport, Louisiana. The site is located at Resilient Technologies Park in west Shreveport and will be the third data center campus in the Shreveport/Bossier area.
AWS's construction partner STACK Infrastructure confirmed that the completion of construction on the new campus is set for the middle of 2028. The new campus is expected to create 750 full-time jobs, including roles for electricians, engineers, and data center specialists, with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
AWS has been working closely with SWEPCO to ensure the power grid can handle the demand and that ratepayers are not affected. In fact, $400 million is being invested by AWS into water infrastructure to support all three campuses, according to Keith Klein of Amazon Web Services.
