Nike Stock Hits Lowest Level in Over a Decade Amid Slow Turnaround Strategy
Nike's stock price has hit its lowest point in over a decade, falling to $39.09 on August 17. This decline is a result of the company's ongoing turnaround strategy, dubbed 'Win Now', which was expected to boost sales and stock prices.
The multiyear plan has been slow to gain traction, and as a consequence, NKE stock has steadily eroded since peaking above $170 in November 2021. Despite this, Jefferies Financial Group's analyst Randal Konik remains optimistic about the company's future, citing Nike's progress in China and its path towards higher operating profit margins.
Konik's Buy rating on NKE stock is accompanied by a price target of $75, representing an 88% increase from the current share price. However, not all analysts are as confident, with JPMorgan Chase downgrading Nike to a Sell-equivalent rating due to concerns over the financial toll of the 'Win Now' strategy.
Nike's stock currently has a consensus Moderate Buy rating among 25 Wall Street analysts, with an average price target of $50.29 implying a 25% upside from current levels.
