AWS Growth Lifts Amazon Stock Above $250
Amazon's stock price has been on a rollercoaster ride lately, but it seems to be recovering above $250. The company's shares had fallen from their August record near $287, but now they're moving back up with renewed optimism around AWS and Amazon's expanding role in the AI infrastructure market.
One catalyst for this rebound is a Reuters report that approximately 47% of Anthropic's sales last year were routed through Amazon and Alphabet's Google. This means that both companies are major Anthropic investors and suppliers of computing capacity, while also competing for AI-related cloud demand.
AWS benefits from Anthropic's growth because the company has access to extensive cloud infrastructure and sales networks. For Amazon, stronger Anthropic demand could translate into greater AWS computing requirements.
