AWS UAE Outage Forces Customers to Shift Workloads Amid Amazon's Record Revenue
AWS, Amazon's cloud computing service, experienced a regional outage in the UAE that forced customers to shift their workloads to other regions. The incident made the UAE region unreliable and halted local billing for some users.
Fortunately, this issue did not impact all of AWS' regions, as other areas stayed online during the outage. In fact, Amazon's stock fell around 2% due to the disruption.
In other news, Amazon has named a North America executive in response to increasing holiday sales. The company also reported its second-quarter revenue, which reached $200.6 billion, a 20% increase from last year. North America contributed $116.2 billion to this total, with an operating income of $27.5 billion.
On the entertainment front, Amazon is set to offer a Prime Video bundle starting September 15, 2026. This bundle will include AMC+, BritBox, MGM+, PBS Masterpiece, and Starz for $29.99 per month to Prime Video customers.
