AWS Unveils CloudWatch Omni: AI-Powered Observability for Applications
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has introduced CloudWatch Omni, an AI-powered observability experience for applications and AI agents. This service is designed to help engineering teams maintain a single view of their application's performance across various components.
CloudWatch Omni offers both agent observability and application observability in one place. It uses OpenTelemetry to ingest telemetry data from various sources, making it easier for engineers to investigate issues without needing access to the AWS Management Console.
The service addresses three main problems faced by engineering teams: maintaining a single view of their application's performance, adapting to changes in their applications, and correlating signals across services. CloudWatch Omni automatically discovers services, maps dependencies, and adjusts alarms as the application evolves.
