Azerbaijan Offers Visa-on-Arrival for F1 Attendees

Azerbaijan has introduced a temporary visa-on-arrival facility for foreign nationals and stateless persons traveling to the country for the 2026 Formula 1 race in Baku. Indian passport holders with valid race tickets or proof of ticket purchase can use this facility if they arrive at an international airport in Azerbaijan between August 25 and September 30, 2026.

The measure was announced in a decree issued by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on August 25. The decree allows eligible travelers to obtain visas at Azerbaijan's international airports during the specified period.

To be eligible, travelers must carry one of the documents linked to the 2026 Formula 1 event in Baku, including a physical or electronic race ticket, proof of purchase, or accreditation cards issued under Formula One Management or FIA rules. Accreditation issued by the Baku City Circuit operating company is also accepted.
