Bangladesh Biman Seeks Fleet Upgrade Amid Boeing-Airbus Competition

Biman Bangladesh Airlines is upgrading its fleet with new aircraft from Boeing and Airbus. The state-owned flag carrier has formalized an agreement with Boeing to purchase 14 planes at a cost of $3.7 billion, which will be delivered between 2031 and 2035.

Boeing already supplies 14 out of the airline's 19 current aircraft, so this deal marks a significant expansion for the company in Bangladesh.

Airbus remains engaged in discussions to sell at least ten planes to Biman, with European diplomats confirming ongoing negotiations between Airbus and Bangladeshi authorities.
