Bangladesh Seeks $500M-$1B in First Foreign Bond Sale
Bangladesh is planning to issue its first foreign-currency sovereign bond, with JPMorgan Chase & Co. set to manage the transaction.
The sale aims to raise between $500 million and $1 billion within three months, pending final sign-off from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Tanvir Shahriar Ghani, the prime minister's special assistant overseeing investment and capital market affairs, said the interest rates have gone up by 25 basis points, which will impact emerging market rates.
Ghani also noted that the government is balancing funding needs while remaining sensitive to the cost of capital.
