Barloworld Bolsters Portfolio with Hermann Paus Distribution Deal

Barloworld has expanded its portfolio by signing a distribution agreement with German OEM Hermann Paus Maschinenfabrik at Electra Mining Africa 2026 in Johannesburg. The deal adds PAUS's specialized underground mining vehicles to Barloworld's offerings and covers eight countries in Southern Africa, including South Africa, Eswatini, Botswana, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia, Angola, and Zimbabwe.

The agreement allows regional stocking of critical spares, reducing downtime from imported component delays. Mines can integrate PAUS niche units alongside existing primary load-and-haul fleets without changing their OEM for core equipment.

This move reflects the shift in OEMs partnering with established regional dealers rather than direct-selling into African underground projects. Barloworld's private holding and South African leadership since early 2026 have led to this expansion of its OEM portfolio beyond Caterpillar.
