Base Launches 24/7 Trading for Tokenized US Stocks
Coinbase's Base network has launched around-the-clock trading for tokenized U.S. equities, allowing eligible non-U.S. users to buy and sell shares of major companies like Nvidia and Apple.
The service issues these U.S. stocks as B20 tokens on the Base network, each representing one underlying share held by a regulated custodian, ensuring a one-to-one backing.
This structure allows users to trade these assets 24/7, bypassing the standard trading hours of the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq.
The initiative marks a significant step in bridging traditional finance with decentralized platforms, providing greater flexibility and accessibility for global investors who previously faced barriers due to time zones or local market restrictions.
