Amazon's operations director in Baton Rouge, Tyra Jones, addressed resident concerns about noise from drone delivery. She stated that Prime Air is quieter than a delivery truck idling outside a door.

Jones said the project has reduced its noise pollution by 50 percent and that a newer, quieter model of drones is currently being developed.

The current drones have cameras and sensors but are not monitored during flight by a human. Jones emphasized that drivers' jobs have not been lost and that the drones only deliver items weighing less than five pounds.
