Bay Area Business Leader Terry Newell Sails into the Mystic

Terry Newell, a man of profound strength and character, passed away on December 4, 2025, at his home in Petaluma, CA. Born on November 3, 1952, in Bronxville, NY, Terry spent his formative years in Fairfield, CT, where he developed a lifelong passion for sailing and singing.

He attended the University of the Pacific, graduating with a BA in Business Administration while also performing in various groups, including a barbershop quartet. After college, Terry quickly rose through the ranks at Procter & Gamble before working at Clorox, Atari, and Activision.

He later became the Publisher and CEO of Weldon Owen in San Francisco, a position he held until his retirement in 2015. Throughout his life, Terry filled his time with reading, traveling, cooking, golfing, and biking, but above all, he cherished the love he had for his family.
