Bay Area Reporter Tiffany Liou Returns to ABC7 Eyewitness News

Tiffany Liou, a Taiwanese American bilingual reporter at ABC7 Eyewitness News, has made a true homecoming to her roots in the Bay Area. Born and raised in Fremont, California, Liou earned a business degree from Santa Clara University before working at Salesforce. However, an evening Live Television Broadcasting class at Ohlone College sparked a passion for journalism that led to an unexpected career change.

Liou's connection to ABC7 began during her college internship in the station's marketing department. After launching her journalism career as an overnight assignment editor at KTVU, she spent nearly a decade reporting in newsrooms across the country. Her work has earned her multiple awards, including EMMY and Murrow recognitions.

Throughout her career, Liou has covered significant events such as the Uvalde and Allen mass shootings, Hurricane Harvey, and the July 4 Hill Country floods. She also traveled to Haiti as a solo journalist, localizing an international story. A lifelong learner, Liou organizes the National Press Photographers Association's Women in Visual Journalism Conference and teaches at NPPA's Advanced Storytelling Workshop.
