Beak and Barrel Reservation May Cost You Time at Magic Kingdom's Christmas Party

For more than four decades, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party has been a holiday tradition at Magic Kingdom. The separately ticketed event transforms the park into a Christmas celebration after regular daytime guests have left.

The party offers exclusive entertainment, holiday treats, character appearances, and seasonal atmosphere, which are not available during normal park hours.

Traditionally, partygoers have used their limited event time wisely, prioritizing experiences that can only be enjoyed during the party. However, for 2026, Disney has added an option that may tempt guests to abandon this strategy.

The Beak and Barrel, a popular Pirates of the Caribbean-themed tavern in Adventureland, will remain open during the party. While this may seem like a convenient perk, it comes with a significant tradeoff: visiting The Beak and Barrel can take up to an hour, leaving guests with less time for other party-exclusive experiences.

For first-time partygoers, deciding whether to prioritize a visit to The Beak and Barrel can be a tough choice. They may need to weigh the appeal of experiencing one of Magic Kingdom's hottest reservations against missing out on other event highlights.
