Beam Therapeutics Names Eric Foster as Chief Commercial Officer

Beam Therapeutics Inc., a biotechnology company developing precision genetic medicines through base editing technology, has appointed Eric Foster as its chief commercial officer. This appointment is effective immediately, and Foster will lead the company's commercial organization and strategy as Beam advances product candidates in hematology and genetic disease toward potential launches.

The company stated that it is preparing for a potential launch of risto-cel in 2027. Foster brings over 25 years of commercial leadership experience in biotechnology and specialty pharmaceuticals to his new role, having most recently served as chief commercial officer at Ardelyx.

Foster's background includes positions of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing at GlaxoSmithKline across immunology and rare disease products from 2010 to 2021. He also held positions at Johnson & Johnson and Amgen following its acquisition of Horizon Therapeutics in October 2023.
