Google Pics Brings AI-Generated Images to Business Customers
Google has introduced a new tool called Pics that enables business customers to create professional-grade images for marketing campaigns, customer presentations, and product storytelling.
The AI-powered tool is based on the Nano Banana image-generating and editing model and is available as a standalone product or integrated into existing Google Workspace apps such as Slides, Docs, and Drive.
Meg Whittenberger, group product manager, noted that while AI image generation has been successful for personal use, it has been challenging for businesses to create high-quality images due to inconsistent results, cumbersome workflows, and the need for professional designers.
Pics can be accessed through a browser at pics.new, where users can import an image or generate one using a prompt. The tool then provides alternatives and allows users to edit individual elements of an image, reformat text, crop images for different formats, upscale images, and revert unwanted changes.
