Bell Canada Teams Up with Cisco on Sovereign AI Infrastructure
Bell Canada and Cisco Systems have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on sovereign AI infrastructure for Canada. The partnership combines Bell's data centers and network capabilities with Cisco's AI, security, and observability technologies.
The collaboration aims to provide Canadian organizations with a secure and controlled environment for deploying and managing AI workloads, including training and inference. The companies will integrate Bell's data center space, power, cooling, connectivity, and operations services with Cisco's AI infrastructure and security technologies.
Bell is focused on turning sovereign AI from ambition into infrastructure that Canadian organizations can use, according to John Watson, Group President, Business Markets, Bell Cyber, AI Fabric, and Ateko. The partnership targets customers in government, regulated industries, and sectors requiring control over data location and security.
