Beloved Pulaski Resident Alana Van Laanen Passes Away Surrounded by Family
Alana J. Van Laanen, a 79-year-old resident of Pulaski, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent Hospital on September 29, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born in Green Bay on January 16, 1947, Alana was the daughter of Melvin and Margaret Kaster and graduated from Green Bay West High School.
Throughout her career, Van Laanen worked at Procter & Gamble for many years, eventually retiring after a dedicated tenure. She also served as a member of the Fire Brigade at Procter & Gamble.
Van Laanen's family described her as someone who loved spending time outdoors and observing nature. Her favorite activities included watching birds and butterflies, particularly during the fall season. The family also noted that she was fond of her beloved dog, Riley, and would often take trips with her best friend Jan Deneys.
The celebration of Alana's life will be held at Newcomer Green Bay Chapel on October 8, 2026, from 4 to 6:30 PM. A sharing of memories will follow at 6:30 PM. The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at St. Vincent Hospital and Unity Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.
