Benioff Takes Aim at Microsoft's Copilot Again: 'The New Clippy'

At Dreamforce 2026, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff took aim at Microsoft's Copilot, calling it 'the new Clippy' and saying that customers have not gotten value from it.

AIforce is an open, provider-agnostic layer that works across multiple AI systems, including Anthropic's Claude via a specific integration called Claudeforce. This integration guarantees zero data retention by the model provider.

Benioff portrayed AIforce as the solution to what he calls the 'Fantasyland' problem, arguing that competing AI solutions lack the dependable, controlled business-data layer required for enterprise operations.

Salesforce shares closed at $255.65 on September 15 after a nearly 34% rally in the previous month. Analysts are favorable towards the new product launch and have set price targets of up to $300 per share.
