Benioff Warns AI Companies Against Becoming Social Media's '2.0'

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff has warned AI companies against making the same mistakes social media firms did over the past decade, saying they 'cannot let AI be social media 2.0.'

Benioff pointed to the negative effects of social media on children and public discussion as examples of what can happen when technology spreads before companies fully address the risks.

He believes AI developers need to take responsibility for their products, rather than treating harmful outcomes as someone else's problem. Benioff stated that 'the people who write the code are ultimately the ones in the best position to prevent harmful outcomes.'
